This group was originally formed by the Putnam Horse Council in 1988 by a group of enthusiastic and committed horse lovers whose aim was to bring together equally minded equestrians in Putnam County. Several of the original members remain current active members today! We are so thankful to the founding members for all the hard work, and dedication over many years to build up the organization!
In 2020, the chapters of Putnam and Westchester Horse Councils re-organized to form Eastern Hudson Valley Horse Council. Dutchess County is also now part of our organization as well. We share riding activities such as club trail rides, charity rides and paces, as well as equine educational programs and EHVHC social gatherings. We will also be introducing scholarship opportunities, as well as our Advocacy Campaign to share awareness and promote other local non-profit organizations who are doing amazing things everyday in our community.
